The Continental CrossContact LX Sport SSR is a touring, all season tire made for passenger vehicles and SUVs.
This model is a run flat tire. It was manufactured with Continental's Self-Supporting Run-flat technology which reinforces the tire's structure. This allows the tire to withstand the weight of the vehicle and its passengers after air pressure loss, providing a limited and temporary performance. In other words, the tire can be driven on for 50 miles up to the speed of 50 mph. Ensuring the tire's safer performing capability, this allows the tire to safely arrive at a nearby location, where the damaged tire can be fixed or changed. Run flat tires should not be mixed with regular tires on the same vehicle.
The all season compound and the ideal tread design increase the all weather performance. These elements work together to improve the dry, wet and winter weather grip on the road surface. The silica-infused compound maintains the overall rubber flexibility to optimize the tire's performing capability in versatile temperatures. On the other hand, the tread design with the siping and notch placement boost the grip with extra biting edges in different weather conditions.
