The Alliance (Yokohama) 542 is an all season tire manufactured for the free rolling axle of tractors and other agricultural vehicles. The model was made for harvesting machines, hay balers, bale racks, seeders, windrowers, and fertilizer and manure spreaders.
The solid ribbed tread design greatly improves the surface contact while the tires are in motion. The footprint ensures the tire's constant terrain contact, optimizing the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. In other words, the tire is quicker and more precise in its response to the driver's commands, while the structure is secured against the driving pressure affecting the tire. This results in the driver's better control over the vehicle.
The ideal tread design greatly enhances the necessary traction needed during the drive. It allows the tire to enhance the surface traction on versatile terrains. The ribbed pattern boosts the soft and loose terrain grip, upgrading its constant forward motion. The better soft traction and the high flotation capability enable the tire to ease the driving pressure off the driving surface, preventing excessive traction from ruining the soil quality. Soil or field retention ruins the soil quality, and by avoiding it the tire ensures a field friendly driving experience.
The 542 upgrades the load durability as well. The stronger internal structure keeps the ideal tire shape under the load and driving pressure. The Overall Diameter or O.D. advertized represents the tire's overall diameter in inches, once the tire has been properly inflated and mounted per the manufacturer's recommendation. This advertised number is provided to Priority Tire by the tire manufacturer.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
