The Starfire SX 5000 is a touring, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. The tread design and tire compound improve the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping ability, providing excellent year round traction.
The rubber maintains its flexibility in various temperatures, including cold weather. The wide grooves provide hydroplaning resistance by channeling water and slush away from the footprint. The advanced tread design enables the tire to closely follow the road surface. This allows it to effectively absorb shocks for a comfortable drive as vibrations don’t reach the cabin.
The SX5000 is easily controlled thanks to the special higher road-to-tire ratio which optimizes the road contact and enlarges the road contact patch. This means the structure is stabilized against the driving pressure while the steering response becomes quick and precise. The larger shoulder tread blocks increase the number of biting edges for boosted cornering and maneuvering capability. The tire compound is wear-resistant, which provides a longer tread life by actively slowing the tread wear rate. On top of that, the tread is designed to prevent uneven wear. The special tread element shape and tread design, with the shoulder slotting, evenly distributes the driving pressure while the lower void ratio increases the road contact, improving the tread life even further.
