This tire provides excellent all weather traction. The asymmetric tread ensures grip in dry, wet and winter weather conditions and the individual tread elements provide traction on all surfaces. The wide circumferential and smaller, angled lateral grooves resist hydroplaning by channeling water away from the footprint so the road contact isn’t interrupted.
The Roadster R02’s asymmetric tread design ensures both controllability and comfort. The special crown curved design closely follows the road surface which allows it to absorb the shock of driving. This means less road vibrations reach the vehicle’s cabin, even when performing at high speeds. The three notched ribs of the tread design maintain constant road contact while also being stronger to stabilize the tire against the driving pressures affecting it. The better road contact increases the steering responsiveness and the stronger ribs enhance the stability. The shoulder tread provides additional biting edges for cornering and maneuvering, ensuring a secure high speed performance.
