The Pirelli Winter 210 Sottozero Serie II is a performance, winter tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs.
The special asymmetric dual tread pattern design has an inner and outer tread area that enhance the snow and wet weather traction. The inner tread area sports additional siping detail to boost the winter weather road gripping ability, especially in snow and on ice. The outer tread area's tread grooves increase the water evacuating ability and with it the tire's resistance to hydroplaning. The winter weather road gripping ability is further enhanced with the Temperature Dynamic Compound that improves the winter weather traction and makes the rubber flexible even in colder winter temperatures. The winter weather safety is ensured this way.
The tread design features special Interactive Brickwall Sipes that boost the braking ability. They grip onto the road and create friction at the moment of braking, which shortens the braking distance significantly. The same siping design also increases the directional and lateral driving stability and stabilizes the tire against the driving pressure affecting it. The outer tread area maintains constant road contact which improves the steering responsiveness and accuracy greatly. The combination of the driving stability and steering responsiveness boosts the winter weather handling and controllability.
The model's internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped polyamide. It enhances the tire's driving durability by preventing deformation from its optimal shape.
