The Michelin XRV is a highway terrain, summer tire manufactured for commercial vehicles. It was made to be mounted on the vehicle's all axle positions.
The tire provides great summer weather performance. The detailed symmetric ribbed tread design, with the micro sipe pattern and the see-through groove placement, and the cool-running tire compound increase the tire's grip in dry and wet weather road conditions. The compound actively prevents heat build-up along the tread area, which eases the driving pressure off the tire and prevents premature tread wear. However, the tire is not suited for winter weather driving. The tread's micro rib edge sipes increase the number of biting edges gripping the road surface, while the ribbed pattern closely follows the road surface at all times. The wide circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the footprint. This combination guarantees a secure summer weather driving experience.
The model's optimal shape improves its overall controllability. The symmetric tread's flat footprint and the shallow tread depth upgrade the tire's contact with the road surface, which significantly boosts the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. The constant road contact and the stabilized tread elements advance the tire's steering response time and accuracy to the driver's commands, while they also secure the structure against the pressure affecting it.
