The Goodyear WinterCommand Ultra is a touring, winter tire made for passenger vehicles and SUVs. The directional tread design and the special V-Tred technology significantly lower the road noise generated during the drive. As sound waves are not created, they are not heard in the vehicle’s cabin. This ensures a quiet driving experience.
The tire uses different winter weather technologies to greatly improve its cold temperature performance. The Cryo-Adaptive compound keeps the rubber’s flexibility, while the details of the footprint grip the ice- and snow-covered road surface. The hydro-dynamic grooves disperse water and slush from the footprint, effectively resisting hydroplaning in the process.
The Goodyear WinterCommand Ultra boosts the controllability as well. The V-Tred technology, along with the ActiveGrip, Active Block Cut, and Adaptive SipeGrip technologies, provides the necessary road contact at all times. This allows the tire to boost the steering responsiveness and driving stability. The shoulder block pattern with the sipe detail increases the cornering ability. These tread elements also generate friction when braking, shortening the tire’s overall stopping distance. These enhancements significantly upgrade the tire’s overall handling and maneuvering.
