They increase the dry and wet weather road gripping ability by boosting the number of biting edges gripping the road surface, while the compound prevents heat build-up. The groove pattern avoids hydroplaning with the better water dispersing ability.
The Extended Mobility Technology reinforces the tire’s sidewalls and enables the tire’s limited temporary performance in case of air pressure loss. When a puncture or other damage causes the tire to lose its air pressure, the stronger construction enables the tire to be driven on for 50 miles up to 50 miles. This prevents the vehicle from being stranded on the side of the road. Run flat tires cannot be used together on the same vehicle with regular tires due to their heavier construction.
