The General HT+ is a highway terrain, all season tire created for commercial vehicles. This model is specially made for commercial trailers.
The tire boasts an advanced rubber compound and a carefully designed tread that extend its tread life. Its five-rib tread evenly distributes load and driving pressure. Combined with the sturdy rubber blend, this significantly slows down tread wear. It also prevents irregular wear formations and keeps tread wear even throughout the performance. By evenly distributing the forces of cornering, acceleration, and braking, the tire promotes long usability. With a low rolling resistance, there is less friction going on at the contact patch, which further slows down tread wear.
The ribbed tread design comes with a premium all-season compound. Each of the ribs is populated with angled sipes and separated with circumferential grooves. This way, the tire has a decent amount of biting edges to utilize. It can perform just as well on rainy days as it does during the steaming hot summer months. The surface grip is further enhanced by the tire's circumferential grooves that disperse water, slush, and snow from the footprint. This ensures outstanding wet and winter traction and a safer driving experience overall.
The General HT+ has a super strong casing, thanks to its construction and the sturdy rubber compound. The tire is protected against chipping, tearing, cutting, and chunking as well. The tread elements are arranged to protect the tire from stone retention. This prevents stones from being trapped in-between the ribs. Otherwise, they would eventually cause damage by drilling into the casing. The whole tread is designed to combat external damage, which significantly extends tread life and gives the driver peace of mind.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
