Attention! Due to the size of the tires, Packages might be SEPARATED in the courier facility and not be DELIVERED on the SAME DAY, even though we do ship them together. Tracking information can be checked by logging on to the courier website with the master tracking number you will receive via email. For example, you can receive 3 tires in one day and the 4th one the next day or the day after, or one tire in one day and the second one day after. We understand that this is a big inconvenience for our buyers, however, this is ABSOLUTELY out of our control.
Features and Benefits:
The General Altimax UHP is a high performance, summer tire made for passenger vehicles.
The summer compound and the ideal tread design upgrades the summer traction. The summer compound keeps the rubber flexibility in versatile temperatures, and resists heat build-up along the tread area. The tread design's siping placement boosts the grip on the road surface with additional biting edges, gripping the road surface contact. The V-shaped groove pattern enables the tire channel water from below the footprint, actively resisting hydroplaning in the process.
The tire features two tread wear indicators during the drive. The Visual Alignment Indicators enable the driver to follow the tread wear manner of the tire. The VAIs are placed on the tire's shoulder blocks, and they visually portray the tread wear manner along the tread area. If the tire does not wear evenly, the vehicle's alignment should be checked. On the other hand, the Replacement Tire System places the words "Replacement Tire Monitor" along the center rib. With the tread wear, the words wear out too and then they change to "Replace Tire" the tire is nearing its lifetime and it should be replaced.
The Reactive Contour Technology optimizes the tire's footprint and tire shape. This technology enables the tire's constant surface contact throughout its performance, which boosts the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. In other words, the tire is quicker and more precise in its response to the driver's commands, while the structure is secured against the driving pressure. This combination enhances the tire's better control over the vehicle throughout its performance.
The model ensures high driving comfort levels during the drive. The optimized tread design manages to channel the airwaves through the footprint, without allowing their contact with the tread design. In this manner, the tire does not allow road and tread pattern noise creation while the tires are in motion. As road disturbances are not felt in the vehicle's cabin, the tire promotes a quiet and comfortable driving experience.
The General Altimax UHP promotes a longer lasting usability. The StabiliTread Technology eases the stress off the tire during its performance with the flat and wide footprint. This actively resists tread flexing, which causes pressure build-up along the tread area. This allows the tire to evenly distribute the driving pressure along the tread area, extending the tread and the service life.
This specific tire is from 2017. DOT 2017.
Tires older than 5 years are not eligible for the manufacturer's mileage warranty anymore.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
