The Continental ContiSportContact 5P SSR is a high performance summer tire made for passenger vehicles. The optimal tread design and the summer weather compound increase the dry and wet weather traction, while preventing heat build-up along the tread area. The tread’s groove pattern enhances the hydroplaning resistance with the water eliminating capability. This increases the summer weather performing ability.
The tire was manufactured with the Self-Supporting Runflat technology, which enables its limited temporary performance after damage causes air pressure loss. The stronger construction withstands the weight of the vehicle and its passengers, enabling the tire to be driven on for 50 miles up to 50 mph in case of air pressure loss. Run flat tires cannot be mounted on the same vehicle together with regular tires, due to their reinforced internal construction.
