The Continental WinterContact TS850P (AO) is a performance, winter tire manufactured for passenger vehicles. This model is the original equipment tire of select Audi vehicles.
The tire offers great winter weather traction. It features a detailed, asymmetric tread pattern that was molded using a soft winter compound. This compound blend keeps the rubber flexible in freezing temperatures, while the tread generates biting edges to grip even ice- and snow-covered road surfaces. Circumferential and angled lateral grooves channel water and slush from the footprint, effectively resisting hydroplaning.
The stable tread design maintains road contact throughout the performance. As a result, the tire greatly enhances steering responsiveness and driving stability. This ensures better steering responses and accuracy and stabilizes the structure against driving pressure. The footprint features a high-density siping placement, which generates friction at the moment of stopping. This significantly shortens the tire's overall stopping distance.
Exceptional traction allows the tire to minimize its rolling resistance. This is the pressure that determines the vehicle's fuel intake necessary in order to keep the tires in motion. The rolling resistance is lowered by easing the driving pressure off the tire. In this manner, the tire helps to reduce the vehicle's fuel usage and CO2 emissions, guaranteeing a fuel-conscious drive.
The WinterContact TS850P (AO) helps to increase its usability. Footprint stability and wear-resistant rubber materials work together to optimize the treadwear rate. The tread design is able to evenly circulate driving pressure across the footprint, avoiding irregular wear formations. Additionally, the compound decreases its overall treadwear rate. This combination upgrades the tire's service life.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
