Attention! Due to the size of the tires, Packages might be SEPARATED in the courier facility and not be DELIVERED on the SAME DAY, even though we do ship them together. Tracking information can be checked by logging on to the courier website with the master tracking number you will receive via email. For example, you can receive 3 tires in one day and the 4th one the next day or the day after, or one tire in one day and the second one day after. We understand that this is a big inconvenience for our buyers, however, this is ABSOLUTELY out of our control.

Continental VikingContact 7 SSR Tires

The Continental VikingContact 7 SSR is a touring, winter tire made for passenger vehicles and SUVs.

The model promotes great winter weather performance. The special winter compound blend and the detailed symmetric tread design boost the winter weather, ice and snow traction. The silica and canola oil compound blend maintains the tire's rubber flexibility even in freezing temperatures, optimizing the winter performance. The interlocking block bridges and snow pockets, and the high-density siping placement firmly grip the ice- and snow-covered road surface with additional biting edges. The snow-on-snow performance is stabilized with the block bridges and the snow packers. The tread design avoids hydroplaning in wet weather conditions, by dispersing water and slush from the footprint in wet weather conditions.

The tread design's optimized elements increase the surface contact. The solid linkages and the interlocking block bridges stabilize the footprint and ensure its surface contact throughout the performance, boosting the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. This boosts the driver's better control over the vehicle throughout the performance. The shoulder block pattern with the siping placement increases the cornering ability and power by promoting additional biting edges at all times. The 3D Trapez sipes generate friction at the moment of braking, shortening the braking distance. The optimal snow edges of the tread blocks also help with this. This combination greatly improves the tire's controllability.

The tire was manufactured with the SSR, Self-Supporting Runflat Technology. This offers a reinforced internal structure which maintains the ideal tire shape under the pressure, enabling the tire to securely perform for 50 miles up to 50 mph in case of air pressure loss. When air pressure leaves the tire, the vehicle will not be stranded on the side of the road. Instead, the tire has a limited, temporary performance in case of air pressure loss, enabling the vehicle to securely arrive at a nearby location. This results in a safer driving experience.

The Continental VikingContact 7 SSR upgrades the usability. The stabilized tread elements allow the tire to evenly distribute the driving pressure along the tread area. The interlocking block bridges and the solid linkages stabilize the tread stability, preventing tread flexing. The balanced driving pressure prevents irregular and premature wear formations throughout the performance.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.

To ensure that you are purchasing the correct tire size for your vehicle, please check the size of your currently mounted tires (locate on the tire's sidewall). The tire's sidewall also features the speed and load rating, indicating the speed and load capacity of the specific tire. The speed and load index can differ from the tires you currently have mounted on your vehicle up to a degree. Please check your vehicle's Owner's Manual or consult with your mechanic regarding the changes of your tire's speed rating and load index.
