The Continental ProContact RX ContiSilent (T0) is a touring all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles. This model has some W speed rated high performance sizes as well. The tire is marked as a T0 model, as it is the original equipment of select Tesla vehicles.
The tire was made with Continental's ContiSilent technology which lowers the road noise heard in the cabin of the vehicle. A sound-absorbing foam is placed on the inner lining of the tread, which filters the road and pattern noise generated while the tire is in motion. The sound is passed through the foam, which completely cancels it out. This offers a comfortable and quiet driving experience for the passengers as the road and pattern noise are not heard in the cabin of the vehicle.
The tire offers great all weather traction with its high grip, silica based tire compound. The compound and the tread design grip the road well in dry, wet and even in winter weather. This improves the model's safety and controllability. It also effectively prevents hydroplaning by evacuating water and slush from below the tire footprint. The better water evacuation and excellent traction make the tire perfect for year round driving.
The high grip compound's exceptional traction which allows the tire to maintain constant contact with the road improves its handling. The continuous contact improves the steering responsiveness and precision as well as the braking, cornering and maneuvering ability. The better steering responds quickly and accurately to the driver's instructions, making its handling effortless. The flat tire footprint enhances the braking and cornering ability and power as the tread pattern provides additional biting edges that grip the road when needed.
The silica based tire compound also makes the tire very fuel efficient. It lowers the model's overall weight and rolling resistance. In this manner, the vehicle needs less energy to keep the tire in motion and it reduces the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of the vehicle. The tire's decreased fuel usage makes it both environmentally friendly and budget-conscious.
The ProContact RX ContiSilent (T0) offers comfort during the drive. Its internal structure maintains the optimal tire shape. As the tire cannot deform under the driving pressure, it is capable of following the road in all conditions. This lowers the road vibrations felt in the cabin of the vehicle that are caused by the bounciness of the tire.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
