The tire offers exceptional all weather traction thanks to the Tg-F polymer and +Silane additive tire compound which provides extra gripping ability in dry, wet and winter weather. The special traction grooves improve the tire's road gripping ability in winter weather conditions, in snow and on ice. The circumferential and lateral grooves eliminate water from below the tire footprint, effectively resisting dangerous hydroplaning situations. In this manner, the tire is safer to use year round.
The model's special tire compound also improves its fuel economy. Continental's EcoPlus technology reduces the tire's overall weight and with it the rolling resistance. The rolling resistance determines how much energy the vehicle uses to keep the tires in motion.
