The Bridgestone Alenza Sport A/S RFT (*) is a touring, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. This is the original equipment tire of select BMW vehicles.
The tire promotes great all weather traction. It utilizes the all season compound and the detailed tread pattern to improve the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping ability. The compound keeps the rubber flexibility in various temperatures while the tread elements create additional biting edges to grip onto the road surface. The four wide circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning. They disperse water and slush from below the footprint, further enhancing the wet and winter weather road gripping capability.
The tire is a run flat model. This means that it is able to withstand the weight of the vehicle and its passengers when air pressure leaves the tire. This enables the tire to be driven on for 50 miles up to 50 mph in such cases. As a result, the vehicle will not be stranded on the side of the road in case of air pressure loss as the tire has a limited temporary performing ability. In this manner, the tire can be driven to a nearby location where it can be fixed or changed. These tires are not to be mixed with regular tires, as their construction is heavier. Run flat tires are usually manufactured for vehicles without space for a spare tire.
The tread design improves the controllability. The ribbed tread design enables the tire to maintain its surface contact at all times, which enhances the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. In this manner, the steering becomes faster and more precise, while the structure is stabilized against the driving pressure. The Alenza Sport A/S RFT (*) promotes high driving comfort levels. The tread design allows the tire's close surface contact throughout the drive. In this manner, the tire absorbs the shock of driving while the tires are in motion, minimizing the road vibrations felt in the vehicle's cabin. The tread design's detailed tread pattern, on the other hand, reduces the road noise levels. The tread design generates a special sound-cancelling frequency that manages to negate the soundwaves during the drive. As a result, the road and tread pattern noise are not heard by the passengers. The lowered road vibration and noise levels guarantee a quiet and comfortable driving experience.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
