Attention! Due to the size of the tires, Packages might be SEPARATED in the courier facility and not be DELIVERED on the SAME DAY, even though we do ship them together. Tracking information can be checked by logging on to the courier website with the master tracking number you will receive via email. For example, you can receive 3 tires in one day and the 4th one the next day or the day after, or one tire in one day and the second one day after. We understand that this is a big inconvenience for our buyers, however, this is ABSOLUTELY out of our control.

Continental WinterContact TS 860 S

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

  • Winter weather traction
  • Enhanced controllability
  • Run flat tire model
  • Fuel efficient performance

OVERVIEW

The Continental WinterContact TS 860 S is a performance winter tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs.

The model offers first-rate winter weather traction. The asymmetric tread pattern features a high-density siping detail that increases the number of biting edges to boost the ice and snow-covered road gripping ability. The optimal traction sipe placement and snow groove pattern upgrades the tire's performance in colder winter weather. The tread's circumferential and open shoulder pattern avoid hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the tire's footprint. The improved traction and hydroplaning prevention ensure a secure driving experience.

The tire is also easily controlled in such conditions. The model promotes a maximized footprint that maintains its road contact at all times. The wider outer shoulder tread blocks, in this manner, manage to increase the tire's steering responsiveness and driving stability. The tire's response time and accuracy to the driver's steering instructions are enhanced, while its structure is secured during the drive. The high siping density and the thin lateral grooves located between the tread blocks work together the shorten the braking distance. They create friction at the moment of braking, which improves the braking capability and guarantees a safer winter weather performance.

The model's reinforced internal structure enables its limited and temporary performance after air pressure leaves the tire. The stronger structure withstands the weight of the vehicle and its passengers when air pressure leaves the tire due to a puncture or other damage. This allows the tire to be driven on for 50 miles up to the speed of 50 mph. As a result, the driver is not stranded on the side of the road due to air pressure loss, but they can drive to a nearby location where they can change of fix the tire. Run flat tires are typically made for vehicles that don't have space for a spare tire. They cannot be mixed with regular tires, as their construction is heavier.

The WinterContact TS 860 S is a fuel efficient model. The tire uses its optimized tread design, tire compound and strengthened internal structure to ease the driving pressure off the tire and lower its rolling resistance. This combination decreases the rolling resistance, which is the external pressure affecting the tire that determines the amount of energy the vehicle needs to maintain the tire's motion. This, in turn, reduces the vehicle's fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, guaranteeing a fuel conscious and environmentally friendly performance.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
