The tire promotes exceptional winter weather traction. The model combines the winter compound and the directional tread design to boost the wet and winter weather road gripping ability. The silica compound keeps the rubber flexibility in colder temperatures, while the high-density siping placement enhances the number of biting edges gripping the ice- and snow-covered road surfaces. As a result, the tire offers superb ice and snow grip even without the use of studs. The tread’s circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning. They channel water and slush from below the footprint, maintaining the surface contact and upgrading the wet weather driving safety levels.
The optimized footprint also boosts the controllability in winter weather. The flat footprint and the directional four-rib tread design enhance the surface contact during the drive. This enables the tire to improve the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. In other words, the steering becomes faster and more precise in its response to the driver’s commands, while the structure is stabilized against the driving pressure affecting the model.
