Attention! Due to the size of the tires, Packages might be SEPARATED in the courier facility and not be DELIVERED on the SAME DAY, even though we do ship them together. Tracking information can be checked by logging on to the courier website with the master tracking number you will receive via email. For example, you can receive 3 tires in one day and the 4th one the next day or the day after, or one tire in one day and the second one day after. We understand that this is a big inconvenience for our buyers, however, this is ABSOLUTELY out of our control.

Contender ST Radial

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

  • Trailer tire model
  • Enhanced controllability
  • Better load durability
  • Longer lasting tread life

OVERVIEW

The Contender ST Radial is a highway terrain, all season tire manufactured for trailers. This tire is NOT MEANT TO BE MOUNTED ON LIGHT TRUCKS, as its construction will not support the weight and performing style of such vehicles. It can ONLY BE MOUNTED ON TRAILERS.

The tire greatly improves the year round performing ability. The all season compound works together with the detailed, ribbed tread design in order to optimize the summer and winter traction. The tread elements with the siping and notch placement increase the grip on the road surface throughout the year. The compound elements maintain their flexibility thanks to the stronger rubber materials used during the tire's manufacturing. The tread design's groove pattern avoids hydroplaning and prevents water and slush from cutting off the tire's surface contact.

A better controllability is guaranteed with the symmetric ribbed tread design. The flat footprint with the three continuous center ribs ensure the surface contact while the tires are in motion. In this manner, the tire upgrades the steering responsiveness and the driving stability. As a result, the tire increases the steering response time and accuracy to the driver's commands, while the structure is secured against the driving pressure affecting the tire. The shoulder block pattern helps to improve the cornering and maneuvering capability, while the tires are in motion.

The reinforced internal structure keeps the ideal tire shape under the load and driving pressure. The construction features a reinforced double steel belt and polyester cord structure which maintains the ideal tire shape under the pressure. As the tire does not deform, it is able to actively handle and carry heavy loads with ease. This results in the tire's better load capacity, ensuring its secure heavy-duty application at all times.

The Contender ST Radial increases the length of the tread life. Tread separation is avoided. The nylon tread-firming belt overlay protects the tread area and effectively prevents tread separation. On the other hand, the tread bar pattern ensures even pressure circulation across the tread area. This effectively avoids irregular and premature wear formations. The combination of these enhancements greatly boosts the tire's overall service life.

This is a bias ply or diagonal tire. Due to the tire's internal construction and size, it is possible that the tire will look deformed. Smaller diagonal tires do not have reinforced constructions that can keep the tire from deforming. The bias construction and the small tire's non-reinforced internal structure allow the tire to fold in when it is deflated or not properly inflated. This is not constructional damage or an issue; it is a normal occurrence with such tires. In such cases, the tire needs to be mounted and inflated to the proper PSI or, in some instances, an inner tube needs to be added. The proper PSI and the inner tube are able to maintain the tire's ideal shape, preventing the bias plies from looking deformed. This ensures their performing safety and durability.

The photo is a representation of the tire's possible deformation, it does not represent the specific tire model, size, tread pattern and application.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.

To ensure that you are purchasing the correct tire size for your vehicle, please check the size of your currently mounted tires (locate on the tire's sidewall). The tire's sidewall also features the speed and load rating, indicating the speed and load capacity of the specific tire. The speed and load index can differ from the tires you currently have mounted on your vehicle up to a degree. Please check your vehicle's Owner's Manual or consult with your mechanic regarding the changes of your tire's speed rating and load index. If you have any questions regarding your tire size , speed rating and load index please contact us prior to purchasing and confirm with certified auto technician of any variance in speed and load index and sizes.
